The unprofessional antics and clownishness of the so-called Future Newspaper Director Moisa who parades himself as representing the ideal of the Journalism Profession in Sierra Leone, is daily bringing the profession to disrepute and public ridicule. Without a doubt, the integrity and rationale of the future Newspaper irresponsible Director have long been challenged and questioned by many in the profession, and Sierra Leoneans generally, who have experienced conduct unbecoming of a professional journalist from Moisa’s characters.
Any doubt of the foregoing fact is certainly erased by the recent most unfortunate and desperate conduct of a particularly loquacious character that thrives in and is a product of hyped media, who recently today outrightly prove his very shallow minded journalistic skills against the well seasoned and patriotic politician, journalist and Youth Activist Dr. Sylvia O Blyden by calling her “a sly & treacherous, leech.
Notorious for his imprecise use of words to please his paymasters, if he’s fit for purpose, he should have understood by now that a “sly” is someone marked by skill in deception, a “treacherous” person is someone dangerously unstable and unpredictable and a “leech” is a follower who hangs around a host without benefit to the host. How I hope the very good for nothing Future Newspaper Director must have understand that such words aren’t in line with Dr. Sylvia O Blyden’s characters, but best fit the rogues he’s currently defending who took national oath to serve the people righteously as per our legal books, but the majority of them are currently acting in contrary to their national obligations.
At the political realm, it has always been clear that since our pretense at our current democracy, a very dangerous dichotomy exists in Sierra Leone, a system that has tended, over the years to elevate mediocrity above excellence, leading to the confinement of our contraption in the very sorry state it presently finds itself.ds itself.
In other climes desirous of progress, journalists like Moisa would have risen up to the occasion to ensure that political leaders are held accountable and made to serve the people. Moisa and his irresponsible Future Newspaper, who should serve as the eyes, ears, and minds of a largely illiterate population have sold out their constituents for lucre.on have sold out their constituents for lucre.
Rather pitiably, Moisa’s actions are a testament to the fact that he has been sucked into the rot which permeates the system. His objectivity has given way to parochialism; the intellect inherent in journalism is pandered to the highest bidder for partisan and non-altruistic ends, in the process denying our population, country and indeed the African continent the benefits of a working Sierra Leone. Of particular mention here are his actions which ‘failed to monitor’ but keep on issuing ‘accolades’ to current rogues in social positions of trust in keeping with the desires of his funders whilst attacking respectable and patriotic nationals that are not singing in the same criminal hymn sheet with his rogue paymasters.ing ‘accolades’ to current rogues in social positions of trust in keeping with the desires of his funders whilst attacking respectable and patriotic nationals that are not singing in the same criminal hymn sheet with his rogue paymasters.
